Circle of Security
Parenting Program
This attachment-based parenting program has been thoughtfully developed using over fifty years of research, integrating insight and understanding from attachment theory, mother-infant research, object relations theory and neuroscience.
As a Registered Parent Educator with Circle of Security International, I am very pleased to be able to offer The Circle of Security Parenting Program for caregivers. This psycho-educational group is run over eight weeks and each session runs for ninety minutes, once a week. The program differs to other parenting programs in that it addresses difficulties within the context of the relationship of the caregiver and child, rather than focusing solely on strategies to change problematic behaviour. The program seeks to facilitate participants in gaining the capacity to clearly identify and respond to their children's needs whilst being able to provide a safe and secure base with appropriate limits.
The group is suitable for parents, grandparents and other caregivers including childcare workers and foster carers. It is particularly suitable for anyone looking after children from 0 to 5 years of age. But the knowledge gained can be applied to all relationships.
If you are interested in attending a group please register your interest by sending an email or contacting me by phone. Dates for the next group will be finalised when minimum numbers have been reached.
